Mom's only been gone for a day and a half... but man, being the woman of the house is tough! Lunch and clean up took about two hours... and it wasn't even good. Why in the world do they make dishes that can't go in the dishwasher?! I asked Glory how her rice and beans were and she gave me this face like "Well you asked, but if I told you, you'd be offended." She very politely said, "Um, not my favorite."
All I have to say is: I fear for my future family.
I really appreciate you filling in while I was gone. Every female has some rough meals that dont flow smoothly. You will do great. You are a good cook and your creativity shows up in your meals and will bless your future family.
ReplyDeleteThis made me laugh... :) Your mom is right, you will make many a meal that will leaving you feeling like you don't belong in the kitchen. It just takes practice, and it gets easier and easier and might even turn into something you LOVE doing. :) Its one of those feelings of satisfying your family that just brings you joy. :)
ReplyDeleteIf it makes you feel better, I burned the rice I made last night. Like, scorched it. Smoke and everything.
ReplyDeleteMy grandma, a fantastic cook in her own right, always said in regards to cooking, "If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence you ever tried!"
Haha, yeah, that does help, thanks :)
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks mom and Erika, good to know there's hope. I'm determined to master this. :)
This might be an appropriate place to mention that you did a wonderful job on the lunch that YOU prepared today for us. Glad that there are left overs! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks mom :) Publix recipes are a lifesaver!
